About Gary Patterson – Feliciana Custom Homes

Gary has been in construction his entire life. His dad was a cabinet builder. Gary started out framing houses, then trimming houses, then owned a remodeling company. After that, he became a superintendent for a high-quality contractor where he learned a lot about how homes should truly be built. Eventually, he went out on his own around 2020.

Gary isn't just the contractor behind the scenes — he's on the jobs. He's on his tools. He's on his skid steer. He handles job cleanups himself. We run clean, pristine jobs. Gary knows every aspect, or just about every aspect, of how a house is supposed to be built.

We are a cost-plus company. We don't bid our subcontractors out. Every job is fully transparent. The finances are crystal clear for our clients. We do very thorough estimating, and our software ties together everything from scheduling to specifications to selections. All of our subcontractors and vendors are connected through that system so nothing falls through the cracks.

Shannon, Gary's wife, comes from a nursing background and is a financial wizard. She handles all of the financials on our projects.

We want to be very clear about who we are. If you're looking for a large contractor who has a superintendent running your job, that's not us. Gary is on the job. He answers his phone. He answers his texts. He answers his emails. He communicates directly through CoConstruct. We're brutally honest. If you don't want to hear the truth, we're probably not the right builder for you — and that's okay. We lose jobs because of that honesty, and we're fine with it.

We're based in West Feliciana Parish, and our goal is to build in the Felicianas. Gary still puts his tool belt on. We believe that matters. We take pride in being hands-on, transparent, and present from start to finish.
